10 years experience – Freelance Graphic Designer and Video Producer – Doubling the customer base for clients such as Contours Express

July 2010 – Present — Digital Art Instructor at ABC Adult School teaching Adobe CS5 InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Flash, and Final Cut Pro.

November 2009 – Present — Part-time Web Designer updating and modernizing the layout of the website.

August 2007 – Present — Digital Art Instructor at Orange Coast College teaching Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop CS3 to design students.

September – December 2008 — Video Production Instructor at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) teaching Bachelor of Fine Arts students studio production using HDV and 24 P cameras and professional sound recording equipment and studio equipment and teaching post production editing on Final Cut Pro.

April – May 2007 — Assistant Editor working with HDV Cam footage on Avid editing system to create DVD extra documentary for Sparkhill, LLC

May – October 2007 — Graphic Designer commissioned to design color print advertisement for promotion of gym membership at Contours Express.  Commissioned by Valley County Water District Board of Directors, Joseph Armendariz to design brochure for his re-election campaign.

September – November 2006 — Art Director and Assistant Producer for Zula Entertainment for feature length film, Con La Misma Moneda.  Organized the script into a layout making decisions on what props, set design and costume changes would be needed for each scene.  Entrusted with budgeting and making final decisions in selecting props and materials to set each scene.  Devised ideas for set design to convey the story most effectively.   Worked with director as script supervisor as well.

September 2004 – May 2006 — CalArts Video Studio & Sound Technical/ Teaching Assistant responsible for engineering the timing and set up of cameras and decks to switcher for blue/ green screen shoots.  Managed the dimmers and maneuvered lights on the grid and on the floor to maintain safety at all times during a shoot.  Worked with professional recording decks and patching systems. Digitized footage through firewire and uncompressed video through SDI.  Performed super 8 and 16 mm telecines.  Transferred sound from analog and digital formats ranging from Nagra to mini-disc through a patch bay system to Protools for editing.

June 2001 – August 2003 — Graphic Designer for the City of Cerritos – Recreation Services Division

Designed posters, banners, brochures and flyers used to promote the recreational activities that the city provided for the community.  Used Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, PageMaker and Microsoft Publisher to create designs incorporating original drawings and photo styling techniques.  Maintained the plotter and graphic materials.

July 2002 – October 2004 — Worked as a digital art instructor and collaborator with an LA based Artist, Gita Khashabi.  Taught techniques in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere.  Created an animation using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects for a video installation.

February 2000 – June 2002 — ArtsBridge Scholar-Awarded ArtsBridge Scholarships for five terms:

ArtsBridge Visiting Artist/ Instructor – reported to ArtsBridge Director and designed lesson plans and projects that inspired and encouraged creativity while teaching the basic principles of visual art, claymation, storytelling and writing, drawing, and painting at Diamond Elementary School and taught digital and video art through Adobe Photoshop and Premiere to assist the advanced digital art and photography students at Garden Grove High School in making videos for college portfolios.
